About AMBUCS

Our Mission:

AMBUCS is dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities by:

  • Performing community service
  • Providing AmTryke therapeutic tricycles to children with disabilities
  • Providing scholarships for therapists

The members meet every Friday morning at 7 a.m. at The Town Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. The meeting lasts about one hour which includes breakfast, Club business, and a short education program on local issues and topics. All meetings are open to guests interested in learning more about the Hutchinson Chapter of Ambucs.

Members meet several times a year to raise funds for the Club. An example of a Club project is the members managing the Ambucs Ice Cream booth at the Kansas State Fair. Funds raised by the Club are used primarily to give AmTrykes to persons with severe physical handicaps. AmTrykes are a specially designed tricycle which provides persons with disabilities the gift of mobility. AmTrykes are described on this website www.ambucs.com

The Club also performs limited community service projects as approved by the Club. Projects performed by the Ambucs include installing playground equipment, hanging holiday season lights, and assisting local non-profits as requested and approved by the members.
